Puppy 101

Puppies aged 12-20 weeks will work on training foundations that will prepare you and your new best friend to live the life of your dreams together! Our puppy classes are distinct from typical puppy classes that only teach basic commands. We instead take advantage of the “critical imprinting period” developmental stage your puppy is in, where the experiences and exposures they have will forever affect their adult behavior.

Beyond obedience, we focus the following topics in puppy classes:

  • Engagement and name recognition

  • Potty training, feeding, and prevention of unwanted behaviors

  • How to properly socialize with humans and other dogs

  • Marker words and reward systems

  • Confidence building, surface discovery, and body awareness

  • Facilitating real world exposures

  • Grooming, nail clipping, ear cleaning, and basic handling
